Movements of Life

For this theory project, as a group of three myself and two other classmates performed a study on movement, obstacle illusions and their effects on what we as human being are able to interpret with our eyes.

We began the study by observing one of the group members dancing and spinning. During the activity we set up a recording so that we could compare still images from the video to what we saw with our eyes. While in either case we could not make out a clear image of the perfect human form it did become clear that the still images did have points that stood out to create a new form distorted from the original.

In sticking with our themes we decided to create a viewing box in which we would pin point the still images we created in clear forms with minimal color and create see through figures in which would stand in front of a mirror.

When viewing the outside of the box there is also a mirror in which when looking in directly the world and images around you are clear and not distorted in anyway. Upon opening the box and viewing inside your reality quickly becomes distorted as you peer through the box through the figures to the next mirror which is mounted in the back.
